Daniel started out at the Plymouth Theatre Royal before training at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. His work has encompassed a huge amount of stage productions with companies including the RSC, The Peter Hall Company, English Touring Theatre and Storyhouse. He has toured extensively in everything from Shakespeare and Molière to modern plays and adaptations and has also appeared in West End plays and musicals and off-west end productions.
His roles have included Falstaff in The Merry Wives of Windsor, Peachum in the Beggar’s Opera, Toad in The Wind in the Willows, Basil Hallward in The Picture of Dorian Gray, Amos Hart in Chicago, Magwitch in Great Expectations, Dr Barry in Maurice, Oronte in The Misanthrope and Lady Stella Hardup in Cinderella!
Daniel has acted in many BBC Radio plays both recorded and live, has read for Poetry Please and appeared in several Big Finish productions including the Dr Who Series, Missy, Survivors and classic book adaptations.
Film and TV work includes Shadowlands, Another Life, The Redistributors, Finding Death, Queen’s Evidence, Gateway to Heaven, The Bill and Hustle.
In addition to his acting career, Daniel trained as a potter, and is a curator, writer, speaker and judge on all things craft both nationally and internationally.
